Chasing Perfection
In the mirror, I sought a flawless reflection,
Crafting a version, a meticulous selection.
Every flaw, a crack I tried to mend,
But in my pursuit, I lost my best friend.
I painted my heart with colours so bright,
Hiding the shadows, suppressing the light.
Thought I could mould love to fit my design,
But love isn’t perfect; it’s messy, divine.
I built walls of ideals, high and strong,
But they crumbled when I realised, I was wrong.
In chasing perfection, I drifted away,
The realness of us fading day by day.
Now I stand here, a lesson learned deep,
In the silence of loss, my heart starts to weep.
For love’s not a picture, it’s wild and unbound—
In the chaos of life, true beauty is found.
